Melissa’s passion for veterinary medicine stems from her love of nursing animals back to health and providing comfort during stressful or unpleasant moments. She finds joy in creating bonds with her patients and being a source of reassurance during their time of need.
Melissa brings a unique skill set to the team, having assisted in specialized procedures such as endoscopies and cystoscopies. Her hands-on experience in these areas adds depth to her expertise and enhances the care she provides. One of her most memorable moments in veterinary medicine was when a nervous patient leaned into her for comfort, a touching reminder of the trust and support she offers to pets during uncertain times.
Although she doesn’t currently have pets of her own, Melissa shares her life with her partner’s energetic German Shepherd mix, who loves to play and run all day. Her dedication to making pets feel safe and comfortable is evident in her adaptable approach—whether it’s holding a small pet during a blood draw or offering soothing words and gentle pets during procedures.
Passionate about all aspects of patient care, Melissa has a special interest in internal medicine, emergency and critical care (ECC), and surgery. She aims to provide pet owners and their pets with a sense of comfort and support, showing them how much the Lifeline Animal Urgent Care team truly cares.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at the beach, and taking nature walks or hikes whenever she gets the chance. She’s always looking to grow in her career, seeking new experiences in different departments and sharing her knowledge with others.
