Meet Niki, a dedicated veterinary technician at Lifeline Animal Urgent Care with a passion for learning, teaching, and providing compassionate care. After a career crossroads in her mid-twenties, Niki discovered her calling in veterinary medicine and quickly dove into the field without prior experience. She loves the diversity of the profession, from general practice to exotics, and the ability to follow one’s passion within it.
Niki’s true passion lies in training and mentoring others, helping fellow technicians grow and refine their skills. One of her most memorable experiences was caring for a young border collie named Molly, who had been hit by a car and required life-saving surgery. Niki spent over 12 hours in ICU dedicated to Molly’s care, and her successful recovery solidified Niki’s love for critical care. To this day, Molly sings-hows whenever she visits, a heartwarming reminder of the bond they formed.
As a proud Chihuahua fanatic, Niki has three mixed breed Chihuahuas: Minion, Milli, and Zelda. She also shares her life with five chickens and a ball python named Indiana Jones. At work, Niki treats every pet as if they were her own, providing love and comfort to help them feel at ease during their visits.
With a strong focus on training, Niki is passionate about teaching advanced techniques to other technicians and empowering them to excel in their careers. She is currently working toward her Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner certification and has plans to earn her VTS in Emergency and Critical Care in the near future.
Outside of work, Niki enjoys knitting, playing video games, and camping in rural areas with her husband and dogs. Whether at work or play, Niki is always eager to learn and share her knowledge to improve the care and well-being of pets.
